Muay Thai Kickboxing (Thai Boxing) is the national sport of Thailand. Thai boxers have been called "Kings of the Ring" and may strike any part of the body with kicks, knees, punches and elbows. Thai boxers are known for their legendary conditioning, superior offensive output and solid defensive structure. The Muay Thai classes at MKG CLE will not only teach you how to move and react like a Thai boxer but will also significantly improve your fitness level. Our "go at your own pace" class structure allows anyone at any fitness level to participate.
In a typical Muay Thai class you will be learning the strikes, counters and defensive structures that are unique to this highly effective martial art. Focus mitt and Thai pad drills will make up a large portion of the class, which provide realistic and intense training along with a fun and major stress busting workout. Sparring is left for after class and is completely voluntary. Most people who want to learn the art and enjoy the benefits of Thai boxing have no interest in going into the ring, and we realize that. All sparring is structured in a way that insures the safety of all participants.
The Muay Thai classes are open to students of all skill and fitness levels.
